We're now looking for an enthusiastic and hands-on Assistant Manager who wants to develop their wine and cocktail knowledge while helping lead the day-to-day operation of our bar.

Role Overview

As Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the bar runs smoothly, consistently, and efficiently. You'll help create a warm and engaging atmosphere, inspire the team, and contribute to the high-quality service that Grasshopper is known for. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who loves hospitality, wants to grow their drinks knowledge, and enjoys creating special experiences for guests.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day bar operations, ensuring smooth service from open to close.

Lead, motivate, and support the team to deliver friendly, professional, and consistent guest experiences.

Develop your knowledge of wines, cocktails, and bar techniques -- and help share this with the team.

Assist in ordering, stock control, cellar/bar maintenance, and ensuring efficient bar organisation.

Contribute to menu ideas, seasonal drinks, and overall beverage quality.

Maintain cleanliness, safety, and compliance standards throughout the venue.

Build strong relationships with guests, resolve issues professionally, and ensure every guest leaves feeling valued.

About You

Previous bar or hospitality supervisory experience is ideal, but strong applicants ready for the next step will be considered.

A genuine interest in wine, cocktails, and continual learning.

Passionate about delivering exceptional customer service.

Confident, approachable, and comfortable leading a small team.

Organised, reliable, and proactive with a hands-on attitude.

Able to work evenings and weekends as part of the role.
