Assistant Packaging Technologist

Job Description

As an Assistant Packaging Technologist on a 12 month fixed term contract, you'll play a key role in developing and executing packaging solutions that support our sustainability goals and business strategy. Based between our Trafford Park plant and MediaCityUK office on a hybrid basis, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring packaging concepts to life, from initial idea to final execution. Occasional travel to other European sites may be required.



You'll be part of a close-knit team of six, reporting to our Lead Packaging Designer, and working alongside colleagues in food, regulatory, quality, project management, and artwork. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to grow your skills through a structured training programme, with increasing responsibilities as your experience develops.



A Taste of What You'll Be Doing:



Data Analysis :

Analyse data and apply statistical methods to inform packaging specifications



Trial Support:

Support plant trials and testing to validate packaging solutions



Specification Management:

Maintain accurate product and packaging data in our SAP-based systems



Supplier Coordination :

Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely and accurate specification updates



Reporting & Risk Management:

Generate reports, identify risks, and propose corrective actions



System Execution :

Execute packaging initiatives using internal systems like SKU2M and PLM



Team Collaboration :

Support team members with project activities and system updates



We're Looking for Someone With:



A strong ability to interpret data and apply statistical methods to draw meaningful conclusions and recommendations

Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data manipulation and report generation
