Company Overview:

We are a well-established semi-commercial plumbing and heating contractor based in Stafford. As part of our continued growth, we are looking to recruit a motivated and detail-oriented

Assistant Buyer/Estimator

to support our Contracts Manager and learn all aspects of buying and estimating within the plumbing and heating sector.

Role Overview:

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in construction procurement and estimating. Working closely with our Contracts Manager, you will gain hands-on experience and develop your skills in material sourcing, cost estimating, and project support.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation of estimates and quotes for plumbing and heating projects Liaise with suppliers to source materials and compare prices Place and track material orders Maintain accurate records and supplier databases Support with general administrative tasks as needed

Candidate Requirements:

Good computer skills (Excel, email, online ordering systems) GCSE Grade C/4 or above in Maths and English Strong organisational and communication skills Willingness to learn and work as part of a team

Desirable Background:

Experience working for a plumbing merchant (e.g., trade counter or office-based role) Experience as an apprentice or improver with a plumbing contractor Enrolled in or completed an NVQ Plumbing course Plumbing-related qualifications or certificates Basic knowledge of plumbing materials and systems
