This role is an essential part of the newly formed University Centre Somerset College Group (UCS College Group) Leadership Team based at Strode College.


The new College Group will bring together two high performing colleges, to build an exciting future and deliver positive transformation for our students and community.

The Group's Vision is "Transforming lives & communities through learning and partnerships". This will be underpinned by a high-quality student-centred culture and values.

The overall strategic direction and performance of the Group will be led by a Group Board formed from the current BTC and Strode College Boards. The new Group Senior Leadership Team will lead the Group, establishing the culture and deliver the vision and strategic plan. Each of the four Colleges (Bridgwater, Taunton, Cannington and Strode) will be led by a College Principal who will be a member of the Senior Management Team. Each of the four Colleges will benefit from a College Board focused on maintaining strong links with community stakeholders, overseeing the student experience and delivering the college operational plan.

Reporting to The College Principal on a daily basis this role will oversee and take responsibility for the student experience at The College, working within the group leadership team. Strategic oversight and implementation of the group expectations for student experience will be provided by the Group Vice Principal Student Experience.

The merger and establishment of a new Group will enable us to work together to unlock the full potential of both colleges, further enhance the delivery of an inspirational student experience, and build broader benefits for the communities we serve. Delivery of an outstanding college student experience leading to high-quality outcomes and destinations for all students, giving strong confidence the Group will deliver the capacity to achieve an outstanding Ofsted grade in future inspections.
