About the Role:



As Assistant Production Manager you will use your significant knowledge of print and leadership experience to drive operational excellence for your shift, ensuring that every member of the team understands what is expected of them and is motivated and inspired to achieve production targets and KPI's.

You work closely with the Production Managers to define the "Game Plan" for your shift and coordinate the team's effort to ensure this plan is executed and that defined procedures, processes and standards are adhered to.

Understanding the resources required, you will plan training and absence effectively, using data and metrics to inform your decisions, ensuring both the machinery and team are able to meet forecasted targets.

Leading a team of Operators and mentoring a Senior Operator to deputise in your absence, you will strive for excellence, advocating continuous improvement, lean management and promoting a health and safety culture. As an ambassador of the Tradeprint values, you will be a role model to others, inspiring and motivating them to achieve.

As a key contributor to the Operations management team, you will discuss performance, targets and issues with the Production Managers and wider Operations Management team. Using your great communication skills to keep your team and stakeholders throughout the business updated on progress, highlighting any issues that may impact targets.?

In this role you will:



Define and lead the team to execute on the "Game Plan" for your shift, ensuring Operators are clear on the targets, schedule and expectations Manage the floor, supervising operators, monitoring quality and acting as an escalation point for complex queries and issues. People Management responsibility for a team of Operators, scheduling regular 121's, promoting a healthy team dynamic and striving for a positive people experience where wellbeing and development are a priority. Host daily stand up's and regular team huddles, using these as a valuable opportunity to engage with and communicate to the team. Coach and Mentor Senior Operators to deputise in your absence, delegating activities and projects that will support their development Navigate operational issues that may impact Production, escalating to the Production Managers and liaising with other departments when required. Carry out and sign off Operator training in line with the agreed format and coaching Senior Operators responsible for training Create and distribute shift patterns to your team, notifying of any changes in line with specified contractual timescales Own the annual leave and paid time off requests for your team, adhering to defined approval rules and ensuring minimum staffing levels across all shifts are maintained, adapting during peak periods, monitoring the holiday accrual and encouraging regular rest periods, referring exceptions to the Production Managers if required Flag issues with capacity against expected volume to the Production Manager at the earliest opportunity, collaborate to identify solutions and alternative strategies Arrange overtime shifts when required and ensure that all overtime is submitted to the payroll processor in time for payroll cut off Lead on the recruitment and onboarding of operators for your shift, including interviews and induction training, working with HR to ensure that processes are carried out to the expected standard Utilise data and software to set KPI's and monitor team and individual performance Monitor quality standards are being maintained, troubleshoot and make recommendations as required Reinforce Environment, Quality, Health & Safety standards ensuring all Health and Safety procedures are adhered to Support and promote efforts to reduce waste and costs and continuous improvement initiatives Address any concerns over performance, conduct or capability, with support from HR when required Contribute to and act on follow up actions and feedback from Factory Inspections Ensure that appropriate maintenance and checks are being carried out and assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting of maintenance related issues, escalating to internal and external engineers when required. Foster a strong relationship with the Production Managers, listening and acting on feedback relating to your shift and equally sharing your input and insights from the team Contribute to wider production projects and OKR's, taking responsibility for the delivery of project actions to agreed deadlines

The ideal candidate for this position will have:



Proven track record in a print production environment (e.g., litho, digital, large format). Good understanding of print processes, equipment, and finishing techniques. Experience of people management in a production environment Ability to motivate, coach, and develop team members. Excellent communication skills Ability to solve problems and implement practical, effective solutions under pressure. An understanding and commitment to workplace health & safety

It would be useful for candidates to have:



Familiarity with production software, MIS systems Knowledge or experience with Lean. Continuous Improvement or similar methodologies Data Driven Mindset, comfortable using KPI's and Production data to drive decision making

This role will be on a permanent, full-time basis, We operate 24/7 and this role will work 12 hour shifts including days, nights and weekends, an average of 42 hours per week.

Salary will be dependent on experience, but we expect to pay in the region of 33,000-37,000. In addition to salary, we have a range of benefits and perks including:

Pay: 33,000.00-37,000.00 per year
