Assistant Production Manager

To assist the production manager in the day-to-day activities across the factory, and to provide holiday cover for the production manager as and when required.

Guarantee staff compliance with procedures and BRC standards, ensuring the quality, legality, and safety of all products.

Lead and supervise the production team to complete all tasks efficiently in the absence of the production manager.

Contribute to Health & Safety, Food Safety, and supporting the achievement of ongoing company-wide objectives.

Requirements



You have excellent spoken and written English and good organizational skills, can work well under pressure, and remain calm in busy situations.

You have strong attention to detail, logic, and common sense, can react quickly, take initiative, multitask in a fast-paced environment, and are adaptable and flexible.

You have at least 2 years' experience working in a food production environment, supervising people, influencing adherence to company procedures, maintaining high customer service standards, and committing to a "right first time" approach.

You have good understanding of food manufacturing and aren't afraid to get your hands dirty.

You have a basic understanding of food safety, HACCP and quality standards in a packhouse environment.

Duties:



Ensure production is run efficiently and effectively to maximise yields and packaging to meet the orders set by our customers Ensure production processes meet company standards and regulatory requirements Promote a positive and collaborative team culture, role-modelling company values Communicate effectively at all levels in a professional and approachable manner Take ownership of projects aimed at improving factory performance Deliver training on production, packing, and cleaning tasks Support, motivate, and mentor operatives Troubleshoot issues and implement effective solutions Oversee and maintain high standards of hygiene and ensure the cleaning schedule is followed Enforce company rules and processes across staff at all times. Understanding and capability to use IT systems

Schedule



Dayshift Days and hours are flexible but based on 5 days a week. Salary ~ Negotiable based on skills and experience. Probationary period 6 months
