The Assistant Golf Professional plays a key role in the day-to-day operations of the golf shop and facility, providing exceptional customer service, supporting the Head Golf Professional, and delivering high-quality golf instruction. This position also includes involvement in merchandising, tournament operations, and overall member and guest engagement. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring PGA Professional. On-the-job training will be provided, along with full support toward gaining PGA membership and completing the PGA training program.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service & Operations
Greet and assist members and guests with enthusiasm and professionalism.
Manage tee time reservations and ensure the smooth flow of play on the course.
Handle golf shop sales, rentals, and POS transactions.
Maintain cleanliness and presentation of the golf shop and surrounding areas.
Golf Instruction
Provide individual and group golf lessons to players of all skill levels.
Support junior and beginner programs.
Assist with club fitting and equipment recommendations.
Tournaments & Events
Help plan, organize, and execute club tournaments, leagues, and special events.
Maintain accurate scoring and results tracking.
Provide support with registration, pairings, and event logistics.
Merchandising & Inventory
Assist with receiving, displaying, and selling golf merchandise.
Monitor stock levels and help with reordering.
Create attractive displays and promotional setups.
Additional Duties
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of golf products and teaching technologies.
Enforce golf course rules and promote pace of play.
Support the development of a positive, inclusive club atmosphere.
Serve as a role model for sportsmanship, professionalism, and excellence.
Qualifications:
Aspiring or enrolled PGA Professional preferred; support will be provided for those working toward PGA qualification, including mentorship and training opportunities
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience in retail, customer service, or golf operations.
Proficiency with golf software systems (e.g., tee sheets, POS).
Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays.
Passionate about golf and helping others improve their game.
