About the Service



Broomhill Hospital is an independent, specialist mental health facility set in a beautiful, rural, purpose-built environment. We provide expert care for up to 99 individuals with complex mental health needs across our acute and high-dependency rehabilitation units.

The Role



We are looking for a motivated Assistant Psychologist to join our inpatient mental health service. Working under a Clinical Psychologist, you'll assist with assessments, interventions, group therapy, and support research and audits. This is a great opportunity for psychology graduates to gain hands-on clinical experience and develop their skills for future training.

Clinical Duties:



Conduct psychological assessments using standard tools.

Assist with psychological care plans and interventions.

Support and coordinate therapeutic groups.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on patient care.

Attend ward rounds and care planning meetings.

Maintain accurate clinical records and prepare reports.

Participate in clinical supervision and training.

Support psychological training for staff.

Assist with audits, research, and data analysis.

Conduct literature reviews to inform practice.

Qualifications & Training (Essential):



BPS-accredited Psychology degree

Knowledge & Skills:



Strong verbal and written communication skills

Understanding of mental health conditions and interventions

Ability to work sensitively with distressed or challenging individuals

Awareness of confidentiality and safeguarding principles

Able to work independently and within a team

Personal Attributes:



Empathetic, calm, and professional approach

High level of self-motivation and initiative

Willingness to learn and receive supervision

Flexible and adaptable team player

Genuine interest in pursuing a career in clinical or applied psychology
