Assistant Psychologist (higher Level)

London, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

We are looking for a part-time higher level Assistant Psychologist to join the Staff Support team on a fixed term basis, 6 months starting in October 2025 (in line with project funding) to support with the delivery and evaluation of an expanded offer of staff wellbeing initiatives. The post-holder will work closely with the Lead for Staff Support to deliver, review and evaluate the initiatives within budget and within the agreed timescale.

Given the nature of the funding, it is imperative that the successful applicant can start in October 2025, enabling the project ending and evaluation to be completed in line with the agreed timescales.

The post-holder will support the planning, implementation and evaluation of staff wellbeing initiatives through an externally funded project. The project has been running since March 2024 with a completion date of March 2026. The project has focused on meaningfully engaging with as many staff as possible (including both clinical and non-clinical groups) across the Trust, through delivering of Pop-Up Rest & Recharge Hubs and providing evidence-based advice, guidance and interventions to enhance wellbeing. The project has been delivered primarily by the Staff Support team, in partnership with related Trust departments, staff networks, and external partners. The project funding is agreed until the end of March 2026.

As a higher level Assistant Psychologist, you will be expected to manage your workload and operate autonomously within defined parameters and with oversight from senior colleagues. Prior experience of working in staff support, or a related field, and knowledge/experience of proactively engaging with staff across the organisation are essential.

If you do not mention prior experience within staff support, or a related field, your application will not be shortlisted.

The Staff Support team sits within the Trust's Corporate Psychology & Psychotherapy team and provides evidence based support to staff across the organisation. We oversee the delivery of a range of reflective spaces, including Schwartz Rounds, Critical Incident Staff Support sessions and reflective practice groups. We also undertake in-reach activities aiming to enhance the wellbeing of staff across the organisation.
