Location: Camphill Wakefield
Contract Type: 52-week (12-month fixed term contract)
Salary: SCP 22 - Actual 26, 067.11 per annum
Responsible to: Therapy Team Manager/Speech and Language Therapy Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity to join our therapy team at Camphill Wakefield. We are seeking a passionate Assistant Psychologist to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will work closely with therapy team members, education colleagues and members of the wider multi-disciplinary team to provide person-centred input to our students. You will provide a vital role in supporting our students to access their curriculum, learning and environment.

Key Responsibilities

As our Assistant Psychologist you will:

Provide clinically effective, person-centred, and evidence-based observation and/or assessment (e.g., behavioural, mood and neuropsychological) and intervention (individuals or groups) to students at Camphill Wakefield. Contribute to the development of support plans (e.g., devising Positive Behaviour Support Plans). Liaise with other departments to ensure that intervention and support is joined up and embedded in everything that we do. Provide guidance and/or training to all staff about Positive Behaviour Support, including workshops and training specific to individual students and/or environments. Ensure that Positive Behaviour Support is effectively implemented across all settings within Camphill Wakefield.
What We're Looking For

Essential:

An approved qualification in psychology conferring eligibility for graduate basis for registration with the British Psychological Society, with either a Bachelor's degree (Class 2.1 or higher) or a Bachelor's degree (any class) together with a higher degree. Experience of working with individuals with autism, learning disabilities, neurodiversity or behaviours that challenge. A working understanding of child and adolescent development. Understanding the needs of students with learning difficulties/disabilities and complex needs. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong interpersonal skills and experience of multi-disciplinary working. A reflective practitioner. Strong organisational and time management skills. Understanding of health and safety and safeguarding within an education setting.
Desirable:

Experience of writing and implementing Positive Behaviour Support Plans. Experience of Trauma-Informed or Person-Centred Practice. Experience of working in an education or SEND setting. Understanding of the roles of the wider multi-disciplinary team.
