Priory Hospital Lincolnshire is looking to recruit an Assistant Psychologist to join the team. This is a full time/ 37.5 role.



Located in Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, Priory Hospital Lincolnshire is a low secure unit for males with mental health conditions. It offers support to those who are detained under the Mental Health Act (MHA).

What you'll be doing

You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. As an Assistant Psychologist, you will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients.Support qualified psychologists in the delivery of psychological services, including assessment, formulation, and intervention. Administer, score, and interpret psychological tests under supervision. Assist in the collection, analysis, and presentation of clinical data for audits, research, or service evaluation. Work directly with clients or patients under guidance, providing therapeutic support and monitoring progress. Maintain accurate and confidential records and contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions.

Candidates for the Assistant Psychologist role are usually expected to have a degree in Psychology accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS). Experience working or volunteering in healthcare, mental health, social care, or research settings is highly beneficial. Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, and a commitment to ethical practice are essential. Candidates should also demonstrate good organisational skills and a basic understanding of psychological assessment and intervention methods.
