About the Role:

We are seeking a capable and motivated Assistant Quantity Surveyor (AQS) to join our commercial team at our head office in Burntwood, Staffordshire. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in social housing, planned maintenance, or property repairs to develop their career within a supportive and growing business.

You will work closely with senior members of the commercial team, supporting cost management, valuations, and invoicing across a range of housing and maintenance contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

Preparing and submitting applications for payment and invoices Supporting cost control, valuations, and variations on live projects Assisting with tender preparation and pricing using NHF Schedule of Rates and other housing frameworks Managing and monitoring subcontractor orders, quotations, and payments Producing accurate cost reports, forecasts, and supporting documentation Liaising with operational teams, suppliers, and clients to ensure efficient project delivery Supporting general commercial administration and contract management activities

What We're Looking For:

Experience within social housing, repairs, or planned maintenance contracts (essential) Familiarity with NHF Schedules of Rates and associated pricing structures Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail Confident with numbers, spreadsheets, and commercial reporting Excellent communication and organisational skills Proficient in Microsoft Excel and general IT systems A proactive and team-focused approach
