ABOUT THE COMPANY

My client is a privately owned Main Contractor that undertakes projects across a variety of construction sectors, including Research and Development, Commercial, Manufacturing, Automotive, Healthcare, and Education. Operating across such a diverse spectrum of sectors has enabled them to move with - and adapt to - changing market trends, which has resulted in controlled growth for the business.

Sustained growth is aided by the fact that a large proportion of this company\'s work is awarded on a repeat-order basis from an extensive and ever-growing base of blue-chip clients.

My client has a turnover of \xc2\xa3200 million and currently employs 300 people across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire, and Cambridgeshire. The majority of my client\'s work is within Cambridge however they have started expanding into the Oxfordshire region, turning over \xc2\xa350 million from Oxford alone.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Due to continued growth and a particularly busy work-winning period, my client is keen to speak with Junior or Assistant Quantity Surveyors to join their Mechanical and Electrical Team

Projects include large R&D, Commercial and Education schemes with contract values from \xc2\xa3500k to \xc2\xa315m working on some of the region\'s most prestigious buildings. This is an opportunity to join a growing department that underpins the success of the business by providing the installation and commissioning strategies for the M&E elements of the main project.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with the Senior Quantity Surveyor, managing sub-contract accounts from project award through to completion.

You will receive the necessary training and support to be able to take on a diverse range of M&E Quantity Surveying services.

Duties

  • Assist with the evaluation of costs and learn about proposing alternative solutions.
  • Advise on contract arrangements and conditions but work in a collaborative way to benefit all.
  • Undertaking all elements of post-contract work
  • Placing orders and managing mechanical and electrical sub-contract accounts
  • Preparing regular financial control documents for packages of work
REQUIREMENTS
  • A construction related qualification (i.e., BSc in Quantity Surveying / vocational qualification / or some experience of in a similar role
  • Experience of working for a main or specialist M&E contractor in a similar role
  • Full UK driving licence essential.
