Job Summary

We are seeking a Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all costs related to building and civil engineering projects, ensuring that they are completed within the approved budget. This role requires a keen eye for detail and strong analytical skills to provide accurate cost estimates and effective cost control throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects, including materials, labour, and overheads. Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of projects and provide recommendations. Monitor project expenditures and implement cost control measures to ensure financial efficiency. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure accurate costing and budgeting. Prepare tender documents, contracts, and procurement schedules. Conduct regular site visits to assess progress and ensure compliance with budgetary constraints. Provide advice on contractual claims and disputes as necessary. Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions related to projects.

Qualifications

A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field is essential. Proven experience in cost control within the construction industry is highly desirable. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data effectively. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to liaise confidently with various stakeholders. Proficiency in relevant software applications for cost estimation and project management. A proactive approach to problem-solving with strong organisational skills.
