Main purpose of Role



Responsible for the financial performance of all contracts allocated to them, and for submitting monthly valuations. Also responsible for negotiating and placing orders with sub-contractors, and subsequently, evaluating their work and making payment.

Responsibilities



Estimating and Cost Control



Preparation of quantities and pricing of a project and where necessary collating and submitting a tender. Considering and checking information received at the Handover meeting to ensure that they have a thorough understanding of the resources and rates used. Preparing forecasts of the anticipated cash flow using the contract programme, tender rates, and other available information.

Safety



Ensuring that reputable companies or organisations, which have a good safety record, undertake all sub-contract work. Implementing the Company

Integrated Management Systems with respect to their activities

Production



Agreeing with the Contacts Manager the extent of work to be sub-contracted, obtaining competitive quotations, and placing sub-contract orders. Agreeing with the Contracts Manager/Site Agent the programme requirements for the sub-contractor, and ensuring that they are available. Processing documentation to ensure that all parties have the latest information relating to the sub-contract works. Assisting the Site Agent to organise the sub-contractors to ensure that production is completed within planned cost and duration.

Labour



Assisting to ensure that adequate resource levels available.

Ensuring that any sub-contract labour is employed only in accordance with Company procedures.

Sub-contractors



In conjunction with the Site Agent, organise the sub-contractors to ensure that production is completed within planned cost and duration. Assist in co-ordinating and controlling the performance of all sub-contractors, including the monitoring of cost, quality, progress and safety.

Materials



Ensuring that a reconciliation of materials is undertaken to compare quantities delivered (and paid for) match those charged to the Client.

Financial Control



At monthly intervals, preparing accurate evaluations of the work carried out and reconciling these with the costs incurred

Agreeing and submitting monthly valuations to the Client, and progressing the receipt of certificates and payment.

Assisting the Contracts Manager to achieve, or better, the tender gross margin.

Assisting the Contracts Manager to ensure that all contractual matters are dealt with correctly and promptly.

Ensuring all variations and changes are recorded in writing, and that Dayworks are processed in a timely manner.

Preparing a cost/value reconciliation at monthly intervals

Measuring and agreeing sub-contract accounts and passing to the Accounts Departments for payments

Site Control



Assisting sites to complete and process site administration documents relevant to the QS function.

Implementing the Company

Integrated Management System relevant to the QS function.

Personnel



Ensuring that subordinate staff gain the necessary training/experience, and assisting them to become competent to undertake the duties required of them.

Maintaining high standards of motivation and morale

Public Relations



Representing the Company at all times and promoting good relations with the Client (and his representatives), sub-contractors, and the general public.

Commercial



Assisting at all times with the promotion of additional work for the Company, and ensuring that all transactions are carried out in a proper and professional manner.

Communications



Keeping staff informed of all matters affecting the efficient operation of the site. Advising the Quantity Surveying Director, Contracts Manager and Site Agent of any significant developments that affect the performance of the contract, or relationships with the Client.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 27,000.00-34,000.00 per year
