We're looking for a proactive and detail-driven
Assistant Quantity Surveyor
to join our team in Derby. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience with
real responsibility
across cost control, subcontractor management, valuations, and commercial delivery.
You'll work closely with experienced Commercial Director (RICS-accredited) on projects who will be training to allow continuous progression in your role.
Key Responsibilities
Price jobs using
schedules of rates (SORs)
and site surveys
Develop
delivery models
for direct teams and subcontractors
Draft and issue subcontractor work orders
Manage and record
variations
accurately
Liaise with site teams and clients to agree scope changes
Prepare
monthly valuations
and issue invoices
Submit
final accounts
for subcontractors and clients
Maintain and analyse
Cost Value Reconciliations (CVRs)
What We're Looking For
Experience in construction (preferably in social housing or refurbishment)
Familiarity with
SORs, CVRs
, and multi-trade projects
Strong skills in
Excel
and construction management software
Great communication skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage workload independently and solve problems effectively
