Onshore Technical is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established utilities contractor based in Manchester. Due to continued growth, our client is seeking an ambitious

Assistant Quantity Surveyor

to join their commercial team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a range of critical infrastructure projects within the utilities sector (water, gas, and electric), offering genuine career progression and hybrid working flexibility.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the Senior Quantity Surveyor in the commercial management of live projects Assist in preparing valuations, variations, and final accounts Monitor project costs and assist with cost reporting and forecasting Help manage subcontractor applications, payments, and procurement Maintain accurate and up-to-date commercial records Attend project meetings and site visits across the North West as required Contribute to risk identification and mitigation strategies Ensure compliance with contractual and company procedures

Requirements:

1-3 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within utilities, civil engineering, or infrastructure Understanding of NEC or similar contract types (desirable) Strong numerical and analytical skills Excellent communication and IT skills (especially MS Excel) Proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to develop professionally Full UK driving licence (preferred)
