The Opportunity
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our bustling commercial team. This isn't just a number-crunching role; you'll be at the heart of our operations, working closely with project managers and clients to ensure our projects are delivered successfully and on budget.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone in the early stages of their QS career to gain hands-on experience in the dynamic utilities sector, with clear pathways for professional development and growth within the company.
What You'll Be Doing
Assisting with the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions for a variety of utility infrastructure projects.
Supporting the commercial management of live projects, including carrying out monthly valuations and processing payments.
Assisting in the procurement and management of subcontractor packages.
Helping to prepare and agree on final accounts, including managing claims and variations.
Working with NEC and other forms of contract, gaining invaluable experience on major frameworks.
Liaising with site teams, project managers, and clients to provide commercial support and ensure alignment.

Who We're Looking For
You have a degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction/engineering field.
You might have a year or two of experience in a similar role, perhaps through a placement or as a graduate. Experience in civils or utilities is a big plus but not essential.
You're a natural problem-solver with a sharp eye for detail.
Your communication and interpersonal skills are top-notch; you're comfortable working with people across all levels of the business.
You are proficient with standard industry software and have strong Excel skills.
Most importantly, you have a proactive, can-do attitude and are eager to learn and contribute to a close-knit team. You believe in delivering on your promises and striving for excellence.
