About the Role
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a key role in supporting the commercial function of our operations. Working closely with our Senior Commercial Officer and Quantity Surveyor from our Northallerton office, you'll help ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

What You'll Be Doing
Supporting profitability forecasts and cost/value analysis
Administering contracts and subcontracts, including payments and change procedures
Evaluating and negotiating changes and final accounts
Preparing financial reports and maintaining accurate records
Applying standard methods of measurement and pricing
Visiting sites across North Yorkshire to assess progress and performance

What We're Looking For
A team player with Working towards or prepared to work towards a HND or degree in Quantity Surveying
Awareness of commercial and financial impact on works/scheme delivery
Experience of cost forecasting, management and control processes including the use of contract programmes, change and risk registers
Strong communication and IT skills (MS Office, Outlook, MS Project)
A proactive mindset and attention to detail
A valid UK Driving Licence (essential for site visits)
A passion for learning and growing within the industry
Experience of working with Contract Documents for Highway Works and knowledge of standard forms of construction contracts such as NEC is not essential but would be advantage for this role. We can provide training and mentoring to build this knowledge
