The Green spaces team is seeking a Seasonal Assistant Ranger to join the countryside team based at Thrybergh Country Park. This hands-on role is vital to supporting the safe, clean and welcoming operation of the park and surrounding green spaces during our busiest season.
Key Duties include:
Carrying out site safety inspections and responding to incidents
Actively promoting water safety, particularly during high-risk periods, and supporting water safety enforcement
Supporting general site maintenance, including litter picking, bin emptying and basic repairs
Monitoring site use and checking permits, parking tickets, and payments
Assisting in the delivery of events, conservation projects and working towards Green Flag award status.
Working in partnership with the police and other agencies to help deter and address anti-social behaviour, ensuring a positive and safe environment for all visitors
Supporting community and volunteer engagement activities
Providing assistance in emergency situations across designated sites
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience in countryside, park or green space work
Sound understanding of health and water safety
Strong public engagement and communication skills
Practical skills in site maintenance and use of tools
A proactive, team-focused approach with the ability to work independently
A full driving licence
