Job Title: Assistant Regulatory Reporting Accountant

Reports To: Regulatory Reporting Manager

Key Relationships: Regulatory Reporting team, Finance team, Actuarial team, External Auditors

Job Summary: Reporting to the Regulatory Reporting Manager, this position is primarily responsible for supporting the preparation of quarterly and annual Solvency II (SII) reporting for the Lloyd's Syndicates, Beazley European Insurance company (BIdac) and Beazley Plc Group. Additional duties include assisting with the completion of Lloyd's specific returns (QMA Delta, QMB), as well as contributing to the maintenance, testing and enhancement of reporting tools and systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Regulatory Reporting specificSupport the preparation of all Solvency II reporting to Lloyd's, CBI and PRA, including QRTs, SFCR, RSR and annual SF SCR calculations. Assist in compiling Lloyd's specific returns such as QMA Delta and QMB. Contribute to the P&L attribution process and help advance analytics capabilities within the regulatory reporting team. Continuously review and enhance reporting processes to improve efficiency and strengthen the control environment. Assist in developing and managing the regulatory reporting timetable. Monitor and support the evolution of underlying systems to resolve reporting data deficiencies. Support the analysis of UK GAAP/IFRS entries and Solvency II adjustments. Respond to stakeholder queries and provide timely support. Collaborate with teams across the business as part of the reporting cycle (actuarial, investments, external audit). Additional responsibilities Supporting Beazley's finance modernisation projects as required. Contribute to the identification and design of processes to meet the regulatory reporting requirements as efficiently as possible. Assist in the maintenance of technical documentation, ranging from process documentation to reporting policies. Help in the preparation of committee and board papers. Provide technical support to the business in relation to regulatory reporting.

Carry out additional responsibilities as individually notified, either through your objectives or through the learning management system. These may include membership of any Beazley committees or working groups.


Personal Specification:

Education and QualificationsPart-qualified professional accountancy qualification, preference for ACA/ACCA/CIMA. University degree in any discipline.


Skills and AbilitiesStrong computing skills advantageous - Excel including PowerPivot, PowerBI/Database experience and MS Office. Working understanding of non-life insurance accounting, especially UK GAAP and IFRS. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail. Must be able to work as part of a team. Good Able to work on own initiative. Interpersonal and communication skills. Proactive, self starter, seeks continuous improvement. Ability to manage time, meet deadlines and prioritise.


Knowledge and Experience

Basic knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP accounting standards.
Experience of insurance company accounting required.
Experience of Lloyd's accounting is preferred but not essential.
