Overview

The Varsity hotel & Spa is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our dynamic team at SIX Brasserie restaurant.

In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of our restaurant, providing exceptional service to our guests while supporting the management team. You will be responsible for supervising staff, overseeing food production and preparation, and maintaining high standards of food safety and hospitality.

Responsibilities

Assist the Restaurant Manager in daily operations and staff management. Supervise kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure efficient service and adherence to quality standards. Oversee food preparation and production processes, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. Train new employees on restaurant policies, procedures, and best practices in hospitality. Help manage inventory levels, including ordering supplies as necessary. Address customer inquiries and complaints promptly to ensure a positive dining experience. Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean and organised restaurant environment. Assist in developing menus and specials that align with customer preferences and seasonal availability.

Skills

Strong background in kitchen operations, including food preparation and production techniques. Experience in bartending is an advantage, enhancing the overall guest experience. Excellent hospitality skills with a passion for delivering outstanding service. Proven ability to supervise and manage a team effectively, fostering a positive work environment. Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations to ensure compliance within the restaurant. Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with both staff and customers.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 13.50-14.50 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 42 per week
