We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring exceptional service, and maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. This position is perfect for individuals with a passion for the culinary arts and a strong background in restaurant management. We are a family run cafe/restaurant serving our guests for 21 years. Operating hours are day time only from 7am until 6pm. Coffee back ground experience is essential.
Responsibilities
Assist in managing daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth service and customer satisfaction.
Supervise kitchen staff and coordinate food preparation to maintain quality and consistency.
Implement and uphold food safety standards, ensuring compliance with health regulations.
Train, mentor, and motivate team members to enhance performance and foster a positive work environment.
Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and manage stock rotation to minimise waste.
Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally, striving for resolution and satisfaction.
Collaborate with the Restaurant Manager on menu planning, special events, and promotional activities.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and dining areas in accordance with health standards.
Skills
Strong culinary skills with experience in food preparation and production.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
Proven experience in supervising kitchen staff or managing a team within a restaurant or hotel environment.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with staff and customers.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also demonstrating leadership qualities.
