The Assistant Service Accountant role is responsible for the production of monthly management accounts and for providing sound financial advice and support to Operational Managers, both clinical and non-clinical, at Ward/Department and Directorate level.



This is a key role in supporting and working with financial and operational colleagues in delivering excellent patient services in the Manchester Care Group Division.



Please note - This role is not eligible for sponsorship unless you meet criteria by temporary exemption from current changes to immigration rules put in force on 22/07/2025. Separate provisions are applied to workers who have been sponsored and held continuously Skilled Worker visa since prior to 04/04/2024.

To provide financial and management accountancy services to Manchester Care Group, ensuring that clients receive relevant, accurate and timely financial advice. Maintain systems and processes to ensure that the Trust can achieve the strategy on a stable financial platform. You will also assist with training, projects and financial procedures as required.

Main duties of the job



The key elements of the role are to:



Provide operational managers with information and analysis each month.



Review actual income and expenditure within the Trust ledger system.



Prepare and input journals and accruals to produce accurate management accounts.



Hold meetings with budget holders and managers independently.



Support the Directorate Teams to ensure timely reporting and recovery of income.



Prepare budget virements and journals to maintain the integrity of financial and staffing budgets.



Deputise for the Service Accountant & Finance Business Partner, wherever appropriat
