Responsibilities
As an assistant store manager, you'll need to support the store manager by:
manage and motivate a team to increase sales and ensure efficiency
manage the sales process end to end to ensure consistency and compliance
manage stock and ensure the correct controls are in place
analyse sales figures and forecast future sales
analyse and interpret trends to facilitate planning
use information technology to record sales figures, analyse data and forward plan
deal with HR issues such as interviewing potential staff, conducting appraisals and performance reviews
provide or organise training and development
ensure standards for quality, customer service and health and safety are met
resolve health and safety and security issues
respond to customer complaints and comments
organise special promotions, displays and events
update colleagues on business performance, new initiatives and other pertinent issues
spending time on the sales floor regularly, talking to colleagues and customers and identifying or resolving urgent issues
deal with sales, as and when required
maintain awareness of market trends in the retail industry, understanding forthcoming customer initiatives and monitoring what competitors are doing
initiate changes to improve the business, such as looking for ways to involve us in the community and grow our brand locally
promote the organisation locally by liaising with the community and local businesses
managing the store audit and ensuring compliance standards are being met at all times
Experience
Experience of working in sales is a must
We are looking for candidates who have been in a sales management role for at least one year
Retail experience is not necessary as we are not traditional retail and follow a structured sales process
Experience of working in a regulated sales environment is preferred but not essential
Working Hours
Our opening hours are Mon- Sat 9am - 5.30pm and Sundays 10.30am-4.30pm
Weekend working is crucial due to us being on the high street managers are required to work Saturdays and at least 2 out of 4 Sundays per month
We are open on all bank holidays apart from Christmas Day, Easter Sunday and New Years Day
As an assistant manager there will always be an element of needing to be available to your team outside of working hours for emergencies etc.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this role starts at 26,000 per year with expected earnings between 26-38k
