We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Part-Time Assistant Swimming Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and have a Level 1 or 2 swimming qualification. You will work alongside the Head Swimming Coach Tuesday to Friday to help teach and coach children of all ages and abilities to develop swimming skills, technique and confidence in the water. Additional paid overtime will be required for assisting with running extra curricular swimming clubs for 4-5 hours a week.
Essential Qualifications
ASA/UKCC Level 1 (Level 2 preferred) Certificate in Teaching Aquatics (or equivalent level 1/2)
RLSS Rescue Test for Swim Teachers and Coaches (minimum recommendation)
Hold and maintain First Aid at Work qualification
Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD)

Enthusiastic and positive attitude towards swimming
Good communicator
The ability to inspire confidence and motivate swimmers
Perseverance and patience
The ability to encourage children and put them at ease
An understanding of how to differentiate in a coaching session
Main Duties
To deliver lessons ensuring adherence to the scheme of work and lesson plans
Ensure safe provision of all equipment and ensure it is used correctly
Make sure safety standards are followed in sessions and undertake risk assessments
Identify children's abilities and encourage them to reach their full potential
Plan, when asked by the Head Coach and deliver sessions appropriate to the level of swimmer
Provide explanations and demonstrate swimming techniques
Correct faults in swimming techniques and identify ways to improve performance
Regularly assess each child's ability and progress with Head Coach
To complete daily registers
To attend annual ISA Regional Swimming gala, other competitions and friendly galas when needed
Ensure that all qualifications are renewed and updated as and when required
Be aware of and understand the facility Emergency Action Plan and Normal Operating Procedures (EAP & NOP)
In the event of a pool closure to carry out other Teaching Assistant duties as is reasonably requested.
To perform playground supervision duties as requested

To attend inset days in any school year as required.
Salary for the Assistant Swimming Teacher:
11,000 (salary divided equally into 12 monthly payments)
Working hours (term-time only)
:
Tuesday - 8.40am to 10.40am
Wednesday - 8.40am to 3.40pm
Thursday - 8.40am to 12.40pm
Friday - 8.40am to 12.40pm
Four/five additional hours per week (term time only) to assist with the running of extra-curricular swimming clubs - hours and days:
Tuesday - 7.40am to 8.40am
Wednesday - 7.40am to 8.40am, 3.30pm to 4.30pm
Thursday - 7.40am to 8.40am
Friday - 7.40am to 8.40am
These hours will be paid as overtime.
