About the Role:
We are seeking a motivated and experienced
Assistant Tax Manager
to join our growing Tax team within our UK accounting practice. This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional looking to take the next step in their career, offering exposure to a wide range of tax matters, including compliance, advisory, and client relationship management.
The Assistant Manager is responsible for producing high-quality client files while managing junior team members. The role is equally split between overseeing client work and mentoring junior staff. The Assistant Manager must ensure that the work is completed to high standards, meet deadlines, and maintain compliance with all legal and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Request information from client and 3rd parties (banks, building societies, pension providers etc) and send reminders as necessary.
Collate accounts and other relevant information from other departments of Silver Levene LLP.
Use information to complete tax returns using tax software
Prepare letter to client, detailing liabilities and any tax saving opportunities
Ensure client receives tax return and any client queries are dealt with.
Ensure approval of completed tax return is returned from client and lodged with HMRC.
Calculate total tax liability for clients and advise client of when and how to pay tax and any interest, surcharges and penalties.
Explain and apply maximum pension contributions in relation to earnings for clients.
Review tax returns generated by Tax Assistants and Tax Semi-Seniors and use this to assist in their training and development.
Assist department Manager with Ad-Hoc projects as and when necessary.
Ensure all P11D's and associated s336 claims are completed, signed by the client and submitted to the Inland Revenue within set deadlines.
Assist Partners on tax issues in client meetings, if requested, and arrange own client meetings where appropriate.
Identify any special work outside of the normal billing cycle.
Review debtors and remind clients of any outstanding fees.
Represent Xeinadin professionally, both internally and externally.
Deliver on Xeinadin's vision and values in all work interactions, ensuring a focus on innovation and client-focused service.
Key Requirements:
ATT/CTA qualified
Varied, practical and technical tax knowledge, minimum 2 years practical experience
Proven experience managing tax compliance processes and providing advisory support
Strong knowledge of UK tax legislation and regulations

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage a portfolio of clients and ensure high standards of service delivery
Strong technical expertise in accounting or tax, with a focus on compliance and advisory
Proven ability to lead and develop junior team members
High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant systems
Professional and confident, with the ability to foster strong client relationships
Adaptable, flexible, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
