Introduction

Cygnets Art School Watford are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic and reliable new teacher to run our classes! Please read all the information below before applying, as this is a part-time, freelance position, and may not be suitable for everyone.

Cygnets is a fine art school franchise for children, based in the UK. We teach traditional drawing, painting and sculpture, combined with unique projects; experienced teachers, and professional quality materials. Classes are run for ages 4-16 after school and weekends during term time, as well as every half term and school holiday.

The successful candidate will assist all classes (both term time and holiday) at the Watford branch, for groups of up to sixteen students (assistants are provided for larger classes). As well as helping with the marketing of the business when required, such as flyering local schools and businesses.

The Assistants' general responsibilities are:

Helping to set up the classroom Showing students to their seats Chatting to students to make them feel comfortable and happy Making sure students are keeping up with the project Following the directions of the Teacher wherever required Helping students to finish and tidy work where necessary Helping students to wash their hands Taking students to the loo when need be Making sure students are listening and paying attention to the teacher Helping to tidying up the classroom

Term Time Hours:

Holidays Weekdays availability Weekend availability

Pay:

13 / hr (please note this is paid for the length of the class and includes any preparation/ set up/ clear-up time. Eg a 1hr class 4-5pm is paid at 13)

Necessary Requirements:

- Strong core artistic skills in a variety of mediums

- A passion for working with children

- Excellent reliability, time-keeping and organization

Ideal Additional Requirements

- Assisting experience

- Teaching experience (small group)

- A knowledge of the local area and connection to local schools

Job Types: Part-time, Freelance

Pay: 13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 2 - 6.5 per week
