We are looking to recruit an Assistant Team Manager to support our Team Manager to ensure a high quality of care and support. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Support Worker/Senior Support Worker looking to take that next step on their career path in adult social care.

About the Role



Required skill set - resilience and physical challenges, i.e behaviour that challenges physical aggression. You may be required to perform RPI - Restrictive Physical Intervention as a last resortto keep yourself and others safe.

14.20 per hour

Weekends/ Every other, to begin with

Support Team Manager to Line Manage Support Workers with supervision

Work 4 days per week 12 hours with possible sleep ins. (Overtime available)

Conduct Debriefs

Responsible with the Team Manager/Registered Manager to review all Incidents

Respond in support of the support workers where required

You will be working with a team supporting a young lady based in Dobwalls, near Liskeard.

This young lady has a great sense of humour, loves animals, enjoys theme parks, zoos and aquariums, swimming, and spending time outdoors. She loves Disney and has a talent for recreating Disney scenes or from old videos such as Sooty and Sweep, The Tweenies and many more. She loves the company of those who are important to her, and she can trust - loves the family animals and seeing family members.

If you're embarrassed about playing Lego on the floor, singing and talking about Disney and don't want to swim or help with her animals - then this is not the place for you!

You must have a desire and will, to explore the world through Disney, have a zest for life, and enjoy adrenaline fuelled activities, such as roller coasters and walks in the rain!

This young lady has Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) which is a profile on the autistic spectrum. This is not a 9-5 job and sometimes can be challenging but it is intensely rewarding and enjoyable. Full time, including evenings and weekends. Overtime available.

Note: This support requires experienced care workers in behaviours that challenge and/or physically challenging behaviour. Skill set, resilience and physical challenges, i.e behaviour that challenges physical aggression, Support Workers may be required to perform RPI - Restrictive Physical Intervention as a last resort to keep themselves and others safe.

Drivers are essential as this lady has a minibus to get her where she wants to go.

Responsibilities include:



Support Team Manager with creating and encouraging daily routines for the team.

Ordering medication and checking weekly stock counts are correct.

Meal and nutrition guidance with the team and support with meal planning.

Working alongside the Team Manager to monitor/review incidents and update connect

Supporting the Team Manager with monitoring spending, receipts and finances.

Fortnightly catch-ups/updates with the Team Manager to hand over relevant information within the home.

Assist Team Manager with rostering responsibilities.

Support shifts (including nights & weekends)

Flexibility to provide cover when required.

Leading the team by example & mentoring any new team members.

Audits within the support.

Arranging activities outside of the home.

Monitoring and regular communication with families/professionals.

Role primarily completed on shift, with allocated administrative time as the role requires.

Role reports directly to the Team Manager.

Pay: 28,000.00-30,000.00 per year
