We are looking for an outstanding candidate to join our growing team. Part of Cumbria Education Trust, Kirkby Stephen Grammar School is seeking to appoint an Assistant to SENCO who will act as a key support to the SENCO, helping to manage the day-to-day operations of SEND provision and contributing to the overall effectiveness of the school's support for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities..
Hours of work:
37 hours per week
Term weeks:
38 + 1 weeks school closure (39 weeks per year)

We are seeking a hardworking candidate with a passion for working with young people with SEND, supporting them to reach their full potential.
The successful candidate will:
Hold GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics
Be HLTA accredited or hold QTS status (additional specialist qualification at Level 4 or above would be an advantage)
Have experience of working within the code of practice framework
Have worked with children of relevant age in a classroom setting
Have a good understanding of child development and learning processes
Offer excellent interpersonal skills
