Are you a passionate and dynamic leader ready to make a significant impact in a thriving rural primary school? Awsworth Primary and Nursery School is seeking an ambitious Assistant Head teacher to lead Key Stage 1, take a lead role in either Maths or English, and potentially spearhead a whole school initiative such as the Rights Respecting Schools award. Key Responsibilities:
Provide inspirational leadership for Key Stage 1, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment
Lead the development and delivery of a core subject (Maths or English) across the school, driving continuous improvement
Champion and potentially lead a whole school initiative such as the Rights Respecting Schools award, embedding its principles across the curriculum and school culture
Collaborate with senior leaders and staff to improve teaching practice and pupil outcomes
Monitor and evaluate the impact of teaching and learning strategies within Key Stage 1
Play a pivotal role in the school's leadership team, contributing to strategic planning and decision-making
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with substantial teaching experience, ideally within Key Stage 1
Proven leadership experience in leading a key stage or core subject area
Strong knowledge of current curriculum developments and assessment frameworks in Maths or English
Experience of leading whole school initiatives or projects that have positively impacted children's learning and wellbeing
Desirable Qualities:
A passionate commitment to raising standards and promoting a love of learning
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to inspire and motivate colleagues
A collaborative and reflective leader who embraces professional development
Enthusiasm for contributing to the wider life and ethos of the school
Experience or interest in Rights Respecting Schools or similar whole school approaches

The successful candidate will have to meet the requirements of the person specification in order to be offered the post, will be required to undergo a full enhanced DBS check and must be eligible to work in the UK.
