Job Overview
TerraCycle is looking for a talented French speaking candidate to join the Business Development Team of TerraCycle's Europe Commercial Division to build new business partnerships and relationships with clients, with a specific focus on the French market. The Commercial Division is specialised in providing transactional recycling solutions to multi-industry clients including life sciences/pharmaceuticals, distribution and manufacturing for a large variety of hard-to-recycle waste streams such as PPE, office supplies, eyeglasses, mixed production waste, etc.
The Associate will be supporting the growth of the European Commercial business by assisting in the development of new partnerships through identifying new contacts and leads across a variety of stakeholders (such as marketing, facility and sustainability contacts), conducting outreach and overviews and creating commercial proposals to sell TerraCycle's offerings to existing and new customers.
The position is based in London, UK. The Business Development Associate will report to the Business Development Manager and will closely collaborate with the entire Business Development Team as well as other teams in TerraCycle. French fluency is required.
Primary Responsibilities
The Business Development Associate is responsible for outreaching/sourcing and qualifying leads for the Business Development Manager, with the goal of securing initial calls and driving opportunities toward closure.
The first months of the role will primarily focus on outbound outreach and lead generation. Over time, this position will expand to include independently managing a personal pipeline, conducting sales calls, and closing opportunities autonomously.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Identify new partnership opportunities for TerraCycle through proactive outreach as well as management of inbound partnership inquiries via email, web-conferencing, and phone.
Perform daily contact mining and outreach activities including cold calling, email outreach, LinkedIn, contact databases.
Develop client-specific presentations highlighting TerraCycle's programs and present virtually or in person (when possible) to potential new partners in conjunction with the local and global Business Development team
Manage and move deals throughout the pipeline to finalization of contract/sales quote.
A successful candidate in this role will be able to build and maintain a pipeline of 150-200 active conversations
Maintain records on accounts and update CRM system
Keep up to date with trends across the recycling industry.
Collaborate with internal departments to find creative solutions for clients' needs and improve internal processes
Manage multiple projects and shifting deadlines
Identify new, profit generating opportunities for TerraCycle
Requirements:
Desired Qualifications/Skills
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, ability to prepare clear and concise emails
French first language/native

1-3 years of sales, business development, account management, marketing or consulting experience, preferred
Comfortable in fast paced sales environment and reaching targets, high volume of leads
Taste for challenge and goal oriented: you use your creativity to reach your goals and find solutions

Desire to learn and work on a team that is working to continuously improve our offerings and exceed our sales KPIs
Bachelor's degree in business, and/or management is a plus but not required
Prior experience in waste management appreciated
Fluency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel
