The Institute hosts more than 200 events each year, with our annual flagship event, Global Conference, bringing together 4,500+ participants from around the world, featuring more than 900+ speakers throughout 200+ sessions over the course of the event.
About the Position
The Milken Institute is seeking an Associate Director to support the Milken Institute's Business and Program Development team in Europe from our London office. For the candidate with strong intellectual curiosity, extraordinary work ethic and drive to achieve, this is an opportunity to become a key player in an entrepreneurial, dynamic and exponentially growing global organization and create an impact early on in his/ her career. Reporting to the Director of Business and Program development, the Associate Director is responsible for the growth and stewardship of Milken Institute's sponsors and corporate supporters throughout the year.
The Associate Director will work closely with the London team as well as International teams to support the strategy and engagement with strategic partners, assist with program development, audience building and finding the supporters for our events: the Global Conference, the Asia Summit, the Middle East and Africa Summit, the Future of Health Summit and international symposiums.
Responsibilities
Initiate and cultivate relationships with potential supporters and key stakeholders
Support existing sponsors throughout the year by building relationships with key contacts and being responsive to their requests, particularly in preparation for and during major conferences, with regular communication around logistics of their conference engagement and proactivley managing these relationships.
Develop and effectively articulate the value proposition for event and program sponsorship, including:
+ Identifying corporate prospects
+ Skillfully and professionally representing the Institute at external events and meetings including industry conferenes, dinners and roundtable discussions
+ Crafting written and oral proposals
+ Conducting and closing solicitations
+ Updating our internal relationship management tracker, Salesforce
+ Manage and grow European network of asset owners and family offices
+ Support in the ideation, creation and execution of year-round convenings in London, Paris, Berlin and Munich
+ Duties as assigned
Fundraising/Account Management
The ideal candidate will bring energy, drive to succeed in a sales driven role, a strong preference for networking and attending various sector events to find leads, instigate collaboration across teams and ideally have an established network of Family Offices and other financial institutions.
Candidates should possess the following characteristics and skills:Ability to effectively prioritize and respond promptly to internal and external communications among different time zones

Ability to work with people and interact positively with all levels of an organization, including desire and ability to support multiple team members
Willingness to provide on-site support at select events on nights or weekends, as appropriate, on occasion
Willingness to travel and work across time zones
Effective oral and written communication skills in English, ability to conduct business in German or French will be a plus
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree required
7+ years of experience in asset management fundraising, business development, partnership building, investor relations, wealth management
Experience in working with financial institutions, especially within the family office/hedge fund/private equity/ investment banking space
Professional gravitas/executive presence that allows you to quickly gain the respect of senior executives and UHNWI
Ability to inspire enthusiasm about the Milken Institute and its mission
Experience building funder collaboratives, partnerships, and/or coalitions
Superior project management skills, including the ability to proactively problem-solve and identify solutions in a fast-paced environment
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to manage multiple demands, projects, and deadlines
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams) and Salesforce required
Working Conditions & Travel Requirements
This position will be working in a professional office environment, on a hybrid model, where you will be expected to report to the London office location 3-days per week (Tuesday - Thursday), this is subject to change.
This person will also be required to travel occasionally to other offices and/or venues to assist with events as needed, requiring occasional work outside of traditional hours. International along with domestic travel is possible. Additionally, this position requires interacting virtually on a regular basis with Milken Institute staff based in other locations in the United States and around the world.
