The Associate Director \xe2\x80\x93 Business Development, Aberdeen Proving Grounds (APG) is responsible for leading Army Networking and Communications business development and customer engagement activities to strengthen develop and nurture our relationships with Army and APG key stakeholders while identifying and growing opportunities with the U.S. Army and Aberdeen Proving Ground.

This position is located in the Baltimore/Aberdeen, MD Military District of Washington area and is responsible for leading and coordinating all Collins Mission Systems (MiS) Business Unit (BU) Army Networking and Communications business development activities at APG. This individual establishes and maintains contact networks at all levels and commands of APG to include Tobyhana Army Depot, industry, and trade associations. As an integral part of the Mission Systems Business Unit, the Director will leverage their extensive contacts to identify customer requirements, program initiatives, cross-portfolio efficiencies, dependencies, and opportunities for Mission Systems focusing on PEO C3T, PEO IEW&S, N-CFT, DEVCOM, C5ISR, Battle Labs and Army Futures Command. This position reports to the Associate Director for Business Development Tactical Communications and when required directly supports Requirements and Capabilities for Resilient Networks and Data Links and BMC2A .

Primary Responsibilities:

Represent Collins Aerospace / Mission Systems as the local face to the APG customer. Lead and coordinate RN&D, TACCOM business activities and engagement at APG. Facilitate and coordinate One RTX/ Collins interface with APG Executives and senior officers

Coordinate across MiS to advance collaboration, establish and implement strategies across related/assigned APG customer organizations to maximize Collins\xe2\x80\x99 sales opportunities and customer satisfaction

Develop and maintain extensive customer intimacy with senior-level APG customer organizations, industry colleagues, and trade associations for timely identification of customer requirements and cross-portfolio synergies

Leverage inter-personal relationships and customer affinity to shape requirements, acquisition strategy and decision-making processes

Interpret and communicate APG policies, initiatives, requirements and opportunities to MiS leaders and processes. Seek out and identify new business opportunities; lead and support businesses in pursuing lateral opportunities and support current programs that are critical to the company

Establish understanding of APG strategic direction, and effectively correlate and communicate these customer strategies with business unit pursuit leads in support of their Strategic and Financial Plan (SFP)

Lead Pursuit, Order, Capture activities, develop Price-to-Win, and collaborate across the entire BD organization in development of product and system solution strategies

Lead/support business unit Collins Management System activities. Lead/participate in gate reviews, color teams, competitive/market assessments, marketing plans, proposal teams, and strategic planning

Support Army related trade show and professional conferences to help educate customers on Collins Aerospace capabilities, and articulate customer requirements to Collins

Provide RN&DL/TACCOM technical product/capability briefs to APG customer, effectively articulating complex issues to senior internal and external customers

Monitor and track the status and threats to existing programs as a function of budgeting and programmatic information. Identify threats from other competitors. Counter misinformation in the marketplace

Participate in appropriate local professional associations to maintain high quality industry and military customer contacts and customer affection

Basic Qualifications:

Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience

12 years of prior relevant experience working with U.S. Army customers

Must have sufficient technical background to understand customer needs and Collins\xe2\x80\x99 solutions

Working knowledge of U.S. Army Networking and Communications doctrine, strategies and programs, platforms, missions, and systems

Recent experience working with the U.S. Army, and specifically with the APG organization, is highly desired; the ideal candidate would be an O-6/GS-15 with APG HQ experience

Five or more years of experience in Army networking and communications operations, communications acquisition, test & evaluation; C3T, C5ISR or Army Futures Command is highly desired

Knowledge of the DoD processes for requirements development/approval, developing capability solutions, budgeting, and acquisition

30-40% travel is required

Active SECRET Clearance (TS or upgradeable to TS preferred), or ability to obtain a U.S. Dept of Defense Security Clearance

Must be a US citizen

Proven Leadership Experience

Strategic/critical thinking skills, creativity, problem-solving, debate, challenging customer thinking, and fact-based analysis of alternatives is required

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required; ability to brief large audiences and senior officials with confidence and poise is required.
