Our client are a mid sized consultancy who are predominantly working within the Water industry but also covering wider utilities and infrastructure, such as gas transmission, energy and/or environment.

They have a need for an experienced individual for its Commercial Intelligence service which incorporates Cost Intelligence and Commercial Engineering. Commercial Engineering straddles their key services lines, drawing on the expertise of various disciplines. It challenges the Need, Scope, Cost and Risk of projects and/or programmes with the aim of bridging the client's affordability gaps and maximising value. Whilst maximum benefit is achieved in the early stages of a project, we can apply commercial engineering throughout a project lifecycle including during construction.

This role can be anywhere in the UK apart from London or Scotland. However you should be prepared to spend some time in offices that can be North East, Yorkshire, West Midlands, Exeter or Bristol area

The role requires working with the service line's senior management team SME's and other services lines such as Engineering and Asset Management, this role is to ensure that the service line contributes to Aqua' overall business plan that the Cost capability within the business continues to develop its client solutions and delivers great projects relating to cost intelligence, estimating and commercial advice.

The role will be required to contribute to and lead Commercial and Project Services programmes related commissions, with expected expertise in cost and commercial engineering. It requires the following:

Challenging the need and solution (typically at concept and outline design stage)

Asset standard and specification review and challenge with a commercial understanding

Risk management - where opportunities are identified, what risk manifests and how to manage that risk

Capex, Opex and Totex review

The role will be required to design and implement processes and procedures to manage a team of highly skilled consultants across a national client base, cross sector. These systems and processes should be supportive of the culture of the business with agility and speed of decision and response to client need at the heart.

Operational leadership and management

Performance management of people and commissions

Understanding and promoting the skills within your team both internally and externally

Progressing your teams development, understanding their needs and supporting their progression plans

Client relationship management

Contribute to the development of the products in the cost area of the business

Contribute to the resource planning in order to meet client needs

Develop products and services for clients

Water Industry and/or wider utilities experience preferred

Experience in a consulting and project management capability will be beneficial

An engineering background (Civil / Mech / Elec / Process etc)

Degree level educated with ~10 years' experience of which 2-3 years should have been in a senior business management capacity

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 75,000.00-100,000.00 per year
