We are looking for an experienced tax professional to join our corporate tax team in Glasgow or Aberdeen or Edinburgh. Your role will be diverse and challenging, and you will take the lead on delivering our client services and developing client relationships, as well as playing an active part in building new relationships and identifying and winning opportunities with your existing clients and new clients.


The Scottish Corporate Tax team is over 70 strong and covers a wide range of disciplines including international tax, financial services, transfer pricing, corporation tax compliance, tax audit, mergers and acquisitions and private client services allowing us to serve a large range of clients across the listed, UK inbound, UK outbound and private markets. Our team has been consistently winning transaction projects in the market and leading on Pillar Two from an advisory and compliance perspective. Our Associate Directors take the lead on managing our client services. You will use your commercial awareness and professional expertise, along with leveraging the skills and expertise of others, to deliver the best possible experience and outcomes for our clients.

You will be a confident team player and responsibilities will include:


Ownership and development of existing UK and international client relationships and cultivation of new relationships Support senior team members and subject matter specialists in communication, marketing and delivery of a range of international tax advisory services to clients Development of the technical and operational skill set of junior team members Managing and overseeing international advisory projects, with regards to managing client and statutory deadlines, billing requirements and delegating effectively to your team Liaising with HM Revenue and Customs on technical matters Working effectively in diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution.

To qualify for the role, successful candidates will need:


ICAS/ACA/CTA or equivalent qualification or experience; To be highly skilled in key principles of UK corporate tax rules and international tax principles Experience of delivering and managing tax advisory projects, potentially including M&A, restructuring and refinancing, and Pillar Two; Proven track record of managing a team of individuals to deliver tax services to a varied portfolio of clients; Exposure to, or keen interest in working with, international clients; and Excellent communication and project management skills.

Tax



Our comprehensive range of services encompasses everything from the completion of tax returns (corporation tax self-assessment) to complex consultancy assignments and strategic tax planning. We advise on corporate and general tax, international M&A, stamp tax, cross-border transfer pricing, reorganisations and reconstructions, and competent authority negotiations.

Personal independence



Regulation and controls are standard practice in our industry and Deloitte is no exception. These controls provide important legal protection for both you and the firm. We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints (e.g., in relation to any financial interests and employment relationships). This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm, and also prohibitions on certain employment relationships (e.g., you are not permitted to hold a secondary employment role with SEC audit clients of the firm whilst being employed by the firm).
