We are looking for an Associate Director with experience in the London commercial market to join a reputable consultancy firm. This is an opportunity for a highly experienced professional to lead within the commercial property sector, encompassing offices and related workplace environments.
The successful candidate will possess wide ranging abilities including design excellence and strong client facing skills, that have been predominantly applied to commercial developments.

Your experience will have been gained from concept design to completion of major commercial and mixed use office schemes for public and private sector clients and you will be at the forefront of current sustainable thinking with a passion for developing highly efficient, pioneering and beautiful buildings.

The opportunity will require you to be client-facing with significant business development acumen, as well as being involved in the design and management of significant projects. It is an exciting opportunity for an experienced design engineer to further develop their career within a leading building design consultancy.

Responsibilities:

Lead the work winning activities for the London and regional offices.

Work collaboratively with the Building Services UK senior leadership team and the UK Commercial Market team in identifying, mining and supporting commercial sector opportunities.

Create an awareness of appropriate commercial clients across the UK and proactively support client relationship building.

Work as part of the Building Services UK senior leadership team and strategically influence the Building Design business.

Provide strong leadership in ensuring the London and regional teams are coordinated in pursuing commercial opportunities.

Work closely with the other core discipline Practices (architecture and structures) in the region to develop a collaborative and integrated multi-discipline culture.

Requirements:

Degree qualified, or equivalent qualification

Well established communication skills with a proven sales and marketing track record.

A well-established trusted network of commercial sector clients.

Able to demonstrate by way of past experience, considerable connectivity into the office property market through private and public sector clients.

Demonstrable leadership and people management skills with the ability to inspire internal and external teams.

Awareness of the principles LETI targets, BCO guides and an understanding of operational and embodied carbon in relation to efficient building design.

Experience of working in a design consultancy and/or experience of working within a contractor design environment is essential.

Knowledge of appropriate technical standards.

Able to take charge of project deliverables, make decisions, act on own initiative and operate in a pro-active way.

Good report writing skills, experience of making presentations to and attending meetings with clients is essential.

Comfortable working within time and cost budgets both internally and for our clients.
