Associate Director

Role Purpose

An individual with a strong background in mechanical and electrical (M&E) design and operation , and energy efficiency in the built environment, with a passion for innovation and driving change. The AD position will provide a lead role for the energy consultancy core team, with direct report to the Head of Energy Consultancy and Net Zero.

Key Responsibilities

- Delivering Energy Audits and decarbonisation plans(ideally capable of Delivery of Investment Grade Audits (IGA) and Proposals (IGP) )

- Help Analysing metered energy data, building energy management system (BeMS) logs, operational information, and other relevant supporting information to identify opportunities for energy reduction and building performance optimisation

- Conducting energy surveys and audits of a range of different building types, to identify measures for savings such as lighting, HVAC, metering, fabric, central plant, infrastructure, and renewables and preparing life cycle cost analysis for energy saving opportunities

- Analysing and interpreting data and providing outputs such as benchmarking, load profile review, and regression and help Developing robust spreadsheet-based energy and carbon scenario models to support the development of energy and carbon reduction strategies for clients with large portfolios of buildings

- Determining the potential carbon and energy savings, costs, and payback for energy measures and Options appraisals and specification of energy efficient and low carbon retrofit projects Development and implementation of Net Zero strategies and Roadmaps for decarbonisation of client assets

- developing and preparing detailed energy audits/studies including solicitation and summary of sub-contractor pricing, economic analysis, and technical specifications, delivering briefings papers and presentations setting out the findings and outputs of studies and consultancy assignments and quality auditing other\'s work.

- identify and convert leads to projects within the external real estate market; broadening coverage of high-quality Clients and projects across a range of market sectors;

- Develop and maintain key client relationships and maximize opportunities for repeat business;

- Develop a network of both clients, and colleagues in CBRE, with the aim to identify opportunities and grow the service line.

- Manage contracts, budgets and costs to ensure profitable growth for the energy consultancy core team;

- Responsible for the training and development of existing junior team members;

- Communicate/collaborate with the wider Environmental Consultancy group and Engineering Consultancy teams within CBRE, as well as the wider National business;

- Build and maintain relationships with professional bodies (CIBSE, etc) as well as other industry partners and practitioners to stay abreast of technical and market developments;

- Enhance the exposure of the Energy Consultancy team in the built environment and further business development efforts by attending and/or speaking at industry events, conferences and other external engagements;

- Communicate industry knowledge back to the Energy Management team and wider Environmental Consultancy group; and

- Innovate processes, products and services to drive efficiencies and effectiveness, and provide support for other team\'s initiatives (Big Data, etc.)

Person Specification/Requirements

- Bachelors Degree in MEP design field, and ideally master degree in Energy Engineering

- Significant professional experience working in design engineering consultancies, in role of Design Engineer, in energy consultancy or contractor firms focusing on energy engineering and ideally having some commercial experience, ideally within an energy consulting working on live environments and existing sites.

- Candidate should be able to demonstrate in depth knowledge and significant knowledge of MEP design, thermodynamics, especially in the HVAC environment, BMS main operation principles; and building operation (FM/PM)

- Experience in delivering Energy Audits and preferably developing output for both high level and investment grade audits

- Be a strong communicator verbally and in writing and be able to articulate clear messages, actions and outcomes.

- Experience in coordinating both consultants and site engineers to deliver outcomes on time, to budget and to the desired outcome.

- Exceptional written and oral communication skills: articulate, assertive and confident

- Ability to engage and educate a diverse set of stakeholder groups including project teams and design/construction/real estate professionals

- Detail-oriented: Strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn more and a desire to work in a dynamic, deadline-driven team environment

- Proven Project Management Experience
