Job Title: Associate Director

Salary: \xc2\xa350,000 \xe2\x80\x93 \xc2\xa365,000

An international world leading construction and engineering company is searching for an experienced candidate with a background in engineering consultancy and geotechnical engineering. The company is looking for an Associate Director to join their team in Glasgow. The company is a proud member of UKELA (UK Environmental Law Association) and a lot more accreditation\xe2\x80\x99s. The company is currently involved in rousing projects across the world such as Transportation for an urban residential development, UK, Singapore\xe2\x80\x99s Deep Tunnel Sewerage System, Excavating oil-contaminated soil and removing contaminated groundwater in Madeira, Portugal and more projects. The company has grown four times in size, with a headcount of over 10,000 employees in just five years, and it continues to expand, operating in 80 locations worldwide.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, plan and manage geotechnical investigation projects
  • Produce high-quality GI specifications, factual and interpretive reports
  • Deliver appropriate solutions on geotechnical matters including slopes, earthworks, foundations, basements, and retaining structures
  • Prepare and review technical notes, drawings, and geotechnical reports
  • Communicate with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders to build strong working relationships
  • Support business development by managing the preparation of tenders
  • Travel occasionally to other offices across the UK
  • Mentor and coach others within the Glasgow geosciences team in geotechnical matters
Requirements:
  • Experience in a geotechnical/engineering consultancy environment
  • Technical, commercial and project management capabilities
  • Understanding of geology, ground investigation works, engineering geology, and geotechnical engineering
  • Understanding of current geotechnical industry guidance and standards
  • Proven experience of preparing tenders and fee proposals
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including report writing
  • Chartered Engineer/Geologist with a relevant professional body (e.g. CGeol, CEng, RoGEP)
