Role Title: Associate Director of Internal Communications, U.K.
Reporting to: Head of Communications, U.K.
Location: London

The Customer Engagement and Growth Team at GroupM U.K. oversee Marketing, Communications and New Business strategy and delivery at GroupM. The team are responsible for the GroupM\'s market reputation and influence within the advertising industry, new business strategy, collective intelligence, and internal communications.

GroupM is looking for an Associate Director of Internal Communications to support on strategic communications in one of GroupM\'s largest markets, the U.K. This is a new role, which presents a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Internal Communications professional looking for their next step.

This role will report into the Head of Communications for the U.K., who oversees both Internal and External Communications. This role will require in-office presence at our HQ in Holborn, three days a week.

Key responsibilities:

• Work alongside the Head of Communications for the U.K. to refine and deliver our U.K. Internal Communications strategy for GroupM
• Support the Head of Communications for the U.K. on fast-moving communications needs, which often require sensitive messaging
• Work alongside the Change Delivery Director to shape the Internal Communications strategy for a number of U.K. transformation projects and give strategic counsel on timing, cadence and best channels for maximum impact
• Develop strong relationships with our Marketing and Communications counterparts across the U.K., creating an open stream of communication for sharing updates and ideas
• Liaise with other key business stakeholders on their communication needs and advise them based on our wider internal communications strategy
• Be a senior communications representative within the business and an ambassador of our overall team strategy
• Be a trusted point of contact for our U.K. Executive team
• Be naturally curious and uncover engaging storytelling opportunities from teams with the U.K., and work with them to bring these to life

Experience we will be looking for:

• Proven experience in an internal communications leadership role at a mid to large organisation
• Trusted relationships with senior leaders and experience of working directly with Executive teams on their communications needs
• Strong understanding of organisational change management principles and experience in managing communication projects during periods of transformation is a must
• Seamless ability to craft and deliver internal communications strategies for different teams within the business, whilst laddering up to our overall messaging
• Comfort in being the sole communications representative in a room
• An excellent writer, with the ability to turn around messaging quickly as needed, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences
• Ability to demonstrate the value of best-practice internal communications to a business, through clear ROI
• Ability to anticipate and proactively address potential communication challenges and identify resolutions
• A true champion of best-practice employee engagement, identifying opportunities to enhance internal communication channels and tools
• A strong passion for employee experience, always putting our employees at the heart of everything we do
• A meticulous eye for detail
• Experience in the advertising industry would be beneficial but is not mandatory
