Payroll & Workforce Management is a growth area for Deloitte focussed on supporting clients with the design and delivery of market leading payroll functions. The team support clients across key areas such as payroll operational reviews (UK and global), development of payroll strategies (UK and global), vendor and/or system selection and implementation support.


Examples of recent projects our Payroll & Workforce Management team have supported include reviewing a pharmaceutical organisation's payroll function, system selection for a European retailer, project management of a European outsourced Payroll for a global manufacturer and development of a global payroll strategy for a global manufacturer.


Our team are system and vendor agnostic which enables us to build relationships and work with the major payroll vendors providing UK and global services.

Connect to your skills and professional experience



CIPP or similar qualified or equivalent experience, including experience of the full annual payroll cycle Understanding of operational payroll within a large organisation or payroll vendor Knowledge and understanding of payroll business processes Experience of leading the delivery of payroll advisory projects (or managing the payroll workstream within a HR transformation projects) (client-facing or internal) Experience of full life cycle payroll advisory projects including scoping, contracting, billing and cash collection Experience of working with multiple client stakeholders across industry sectors on a UK and global basis Strong technical drafting skills and verbal communication skills Effective prioritisation management and organisational skills, including the ability to lead and manage multiple client projects Strong team-player and experience of developing and coaching high performance teams across multiple geographies Working with 3rd parties, including payroll vendors Knowledge and implementation experience of 3rd party HR and payroll solutions including Workday, Dayforce and UKG Analytical skills used to derive insight from complex and varied information sources and preparation of project recommendations Excellent attention to detail Excellent written and verbal communication skills including business report writing, preparation and delivery of presentations, workshop participation and leadership Experience in preparing and delivering client proposals, including pro-active engagement in seeking and securing new client projects Involvement in client seminars and the production of marketing materials
