Associate Director - Captive Insurance (Guernsey)







Aon Insurance Managers in Guernsey (AIMG) is seeking a dynamic and experienced Associate Director to join its leadership team. This pivotal role requires a strong passion for cultivating insurance-related client relationships, ensuring the delivery of exceptional service, and driving the achievement of the company's strategic objectives, plans, and budgets.



The ideal candidate will bring robust Company Secretary (Co Sec) expertise, with proven capabilities in governance oversight, statutory compliance, minute-taking, and board support. A thorough understanding of Guernsey company law is essential, alongside experience in managing trust and fiduciary entities and maintaining accurate statutory records.



Success in this role will be defined by the ability to uphold governance excellence, foster trusted client relationships, and contribute meaningfully to the strategic direction of AIMG.

What the day will look like



Strategic & Operational Leadership



Drive strategic and operational planning within the AIM Senior Management Team. Contribute to budgeting, resource planning, and performance management aligned with Aon's global objectives. Lead initiatives to optimise operational efficiency and promote captive insurance solutions. Support recruitment, mentoring, and succession planning for team development.

Governance & Co Sec Oversight



Lead governance frameworks across 20-30 trust and fiduciary entities, including RTAs, STAs, and Hold Cos. Ensure statutory compliance with Guernsey company law, including maintenance of statutory records and registers. Prepare and review board packs, draft resolutions, and take clear, concise minutes. Provide board support and guidance to directors on fiduciary duties and regulatory obligations. Implement internal audit controls and legal compliance across all entities.

Client Relationship Management



Deliver client service excellence and manage bespoke service agreements. Attend board and strategy meetings, presenting on accounting, investment, insurance, and governance matters. Resolve client queries and manage workflows to meet deadlines. Lead onboarding of new companies or cells, including structure design and compliance setup. Monitor client profitability and recommend efficiencies or fee adjustments.

Skills and experience that will lead to success





Fully qualified accountant (Chartered or Certified) with proven management experience. Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards, insurance programmes, taxation, and Guernsey company law. Demonstrated expertise in trust and fiduciary administration, governance, and Co Sec responsibilities. Experience with captive insurance structures including Protected Cell and Incorporated Cell Companies. Confident in leading board meetings and advising on strategic and regulatory matters. Effective team leadership and development capabilities.
