The Faculty of Foundation Maths and English is dedicated to providing high quality teaching and learning experiences across a range of courses. We are committed to supporting learners across the College in the achievement of GCSE and Functional Skills qualifications and are eager to continue to develop our enthusiastic and highly motivated group of staff to support this remit.

This role is an ad-hoc cover position

, requiring flexibility and availability for the cover of sessions throughout the academic year due to staff absence. We would welcome applications from teachers with either a maths or an English specialism, or a willingness to deliver both subjects.

What you'll do:



Be available for cover lessons on short notice Deliver pre-prepared engaging lessons to students with varied educational backgrounds Build confidence and resilience, supporting learners in achieving their potential

A relevant degree A teaching qualification Passion and enthusiasm for working with young people who may lack confidence and need academic and pastoral support Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills A flexible and proactive approach to teaching and team collaboration
