About the Role:

Cambridge School of Creative Industries is one of 3 Schools in the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences at ARU\xe2\x80\x94 a hub of creative and cultural innovation with a diverse and energetic research culture. We nurture creativity through experimentation and risk-taking, and encourage critical thinking to educate, entertain, inspire and understand people, as well as improving their lives. We work with a large number of partners in the creative and cultural industries to enrich the cultural life of our students, our University and local communities.

The Music/Music Technology department are seeking a highly knowledgeable and experienced individual to join our team as a Music Business Module Instructor. We are looking for team players with a proven track record in teaching and industry. You will be able to work to tight deadlines, working independently with minimum supervision and liaising closely with senior colleagues from our partners and key stakeholders. You will have a degree or higher degree and will have professional practice commensurate with the stage of your career.

This role involves teaching various aspects of the music industry, including the evolution of the music industry locally, nationally, and globally, recording industry practices, music/video streaming services and their business models, the \'direct to fan\' business model, A&R and artist management, label management, music festivals and live event management, legal/practical implications of covers and sample clearance, music copyright in the digital age, music publishing, royalties and publishing deals, setting up your own publishing company, music in the global marketplace, emerging global markets, international publishing and licensing, music branding and promotion, press kits and pitching, and music journalism.
