About us
is dedicated to excellence in undergraduate and postgraduate education, with a strong reputation for innovative teaching and curriculum development informed by cutting-edge research.
We are currently undertaking a comprehensive review of our curriculum to reflect the evolving landscape of the NHS and medical education, enhance the use of information technology in learning, and better integrate the GMC Medical Licensing Assessment following a recent external assessment review.
As part of this exciting initiative, we are looking to recruit an Associate Lecturer (Teaching) to contribute to the review of the current curriculum and help shape the strategy for implementing a revised curriculum from 2026 onwards. This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in a forward-thinking, collaborative, and dynamic academic environment.
About the role
As an Associate Lecturer (Teaching), you will play a key role in redeveloping the MBBS curriculum, working closely with the Senior Leadership Team, academic colleagues, and key stakeholders. You will help shape the future of medical education by reviewing evidence, analysing curriculum content, aligning teaching with assessments, and supporting the introduction of innovative teaching methods. The role also offers opportunities for professional development through teaching, e-learning, research, and assessment activities across all years of the MBBS course. Beyond the curriculum, you will contribute to the wider academic life of the department, including research, public engagement, outreach, and postgraduate teaching, while maintaining your own ongoing professional development and training. This is an exciting opportunity to have a tangible impact on undergraduate medical education in a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.
