About this role

The Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities has a growing Sociology provision that takes a student-centred, supportive approach to teaching and learning. The department is currently seeking Associate Lecturers to teach undergraduate modules within the field of Sociology.

The modules you will teach will focus on the media encompassing relevant theories from poststructuralism and cultural studies and analysing real-life media forms, including film, television, music and digital media.

About you

The successful postholder(s) will have good relevant undergraduate experience and ideally be working towards a postgraduate degree in Sociology. You will have a sound understanding of sociological theories around media and bring your own ideas of how to develop the modules you are teaching.

Successful candidates will have experience of delivering high quality, interactive teaching with strong interpersonal skill and the ability to build strong relationships. We deliver our modules in small workshops and students value a mix of interactive activities and expert knowledge delivered with charisma.
