Associate Product Owner

London, United Kingdom

Job Description

Associate Product Owner

This role is hybrid, our office is in Fenchurch Street in the heart of London, working together with colleagues in Uppsala (just outside Stockholm). Applicants must already have the right to live and work in the UK.

About the Company

We are a boutique B2B provider of sports betting software and services that, uniquely, offers operators all the control and autonomy of an in-house Sportsbook with the convenience of a turnkey solution.

We prioritise talent density over headcount, and value the smartest people with the lowest egos. To thrive here at Metric, you will enjoy the freedom of working autonomously, yet cooperate with others as part of a team, all striving for high performance in a high-challenge yet high-support environment.

We are a strongly technology-driven business. We currently have over half of our people in technical roles, and half of those are in software development. We are growing fast, and aim to double our numbers once again this year, to support the ongoing growth of our world-leading software platform.

This is a great time to be joining Metric. We\xe2\x80\x99re signing exciting deals and growing fast, but there\xe2\x80\x99s still a non-corporate, start-up vibe - you can be your authentic self here, and be appreciated for it.

Our Tech Stack

We\xe2\x80\x99ve used domain-driven development and application container technologies to build a cutting-edge multi-tenant cloud-native sports betting platform. Our information-centric microservices architecture delivers powerful data processing facilities with great flexibility, to operators in jurisdictions worldwide.

However, we don\xe2\x80\x99t stand still; we are always learning from everything we do, identifying what works well and what needs to be improved - this drives our objective to continuously grow our people, our collective team and our overall ways of working to ensure we succeed and can always deliver best-in-class products.

Your Day-to-Day

As an Associate Product Owner, you will enjoy the challenge of driving the delivery of new features and improvements to enhance all aspects of our sportsbook proposition.

Your collaboration with Development, QA, and other technology/business teams will lead to the creation of high-quality product requirements. By then acting as an ongoing \xe2\x80\x98solution-centre\xe2\x80\x99 for the delivery teams, you will facilitate an efficient delivery pipeline, bringing new features and iterative improvements to our tenants and end-users.

Your natural curiosity and proactive, continuous knowledge building will mean you strive to become an expert of Metric Gaming\xe2\x80\x99s products and a \xe2\x80\x98go-to\xe2\x80\x99 for Sports Betting knowledge as a whole. This will be driven through the work you undertake and interactions with colleagues across the business.

As you develop the key responsibilities and expectations attributed to product ownership, you will start to take a prominent role in our priority product initiatives. This is with the overall aim of developing your skills, knowledge, and behaviours that can lead you towards a Product Owner role.

Who are we looking for?

You\xe2\x80\x99re self-motivated and demonstrate a desire to learn all things Sports Betting and Product.

You will naturally have a curious and inquisitive mindset, always looking to proactively increase your knowledge - you\xe2\x80\x99re not afraid to ask questions to ensure a deep understanding of topics.

Above all else, you\xe2\x80\x99re reliable, collaborative and demonstrate a determined attitude to get the job done. You\xe2\x80\x99re more than willing to get stuck in to ensure we collectively achieve our goals.

We want someone who\xe2\x80\x99s able to quickly build trusting relationships with others regardless of their role or background. You\xe2\x80\x99ll be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. You\xe2\x80\x99re comfortable working with colleagues either face-to-face or remotely, adapting your style with finesse.

Ideally, you will have a passion for Sport and an interest in Sports Betting.

What\xe2\x80\x99s in it for you?

An opportunity to work with industry heavyweights, creating a world-class ground-breaking product in a genuine meritocracy. Our people are rated by their attitude and the quality of their contribution, not by their seniority.

Your contribution can make a real difference here, supported by some of the best in the business. Although we challenge one another to grow, we also support one another in that growth - learning new skills and improving is something we all do as a team on a daily basis.

At Metric Gaming you can expect a highly varied position in a great working environment, with many challenges, opportunities and rewards within an internationally growing organisation. We have a global culture, with over 100 employees of 20 nationalities across 17 countries.

We reward the people who drive the company forward, with bonuses for standard-level employees and above, as well as fantastic career progression opportunities. As we grow, you have the space to grow with us, and find your ideal direction.

We offer Pension and Medical Health Cover for UK employees, as well as 35 days holidays (including bank holidays) for all employees - work-life balance is important at Metric.

At Metric Gaming, we believe that a diverse and inclusive workplace is central to our success, which is why all qualified candidates are invited to apply regardless of gender, sexual orientation, disability, age, religion and belief, ethnic background, nationality, gender identity, or culture. We are committed to living out a genuinely meritocratic culture where we provide equal opportunities for all.
