We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Associate/Senior Associate with expertise in healthcare regulatory, inquests and professional discipline to join our team acting for healthcare providers, insurers, indemnifiers and public sector bodies on high-profile and sensitive cases.



We are a national team, and support the wider DWF Regional team throughout the UK.



This is a hybrid role, with flexibility as to office requirements, therefore we are able to consider candidate's UK wide, as long as they are within commutable distance to a DWF office.


Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:



Advise and represent clients at coroner's inquests in the healthcare sector, including for NHS Trusts. Support clients in responding to investigations by regulators such as the GMC, GDC, GOC, NMC, and HCPC. Work closely with NHS Trusts, private healthcare providers, indemnifiers and insurers. Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to support case strategy and decision-making. Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, witness statements, and correspondence. Liaise with clients, medical professionals, and experts to gather information and evidence. Attend court hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations as required. Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files and documentation. Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Healthcare Team to ensure high-quality service delivery.

What will help you succeed in this role? :

Key Experience and Skills;



5+ years PQE, with strong experience in healthcare regulatory, disciplinary and inquest work. Knowledge and experience in working with regulators such as the GMC, GDC, GOC, NMC, and HCPC. Excellent drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills. Ability to manage a high-volume and complex caseload effectively and efficiently. Analytical and problem-solving abilities. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in using legal research tools and software. High level of professionalism and integrity. Experience supervising more junior team members.
