We have an exciting opportunity to recruit an Associate or Associate Partner level Surveyor. The role will involve a combination of delivering projects for existing clients and driving the growth of both existing services and new service areas.

You will be joining the Northern Infrastructure team which is a team of over 60 specialists advising clients within the Transport, Energy, Utilities, Regeneration, minerals and waste and telecoms sectors. Existing clients include National Highways, Network Rail, HS2, Local Authorities, The Crown Estate together with a wide range of private sector clients, investors, charities and energy developers.

The role will have particular emphasis on growing our successful Wayleave & Easements Advisory Service, leading on the delivery and growth of the service line across the North of England. We offer our clients a diverse range of services and as such this role will provide the postholder the opportunity to be involved in delivery of advice in areas including:

  • Management of clients\xe2\x80\x99 portfolios,
  • Landlord and Tenant services including rent review and lease renewals.
  • Access rights
  • Market appraisals and valuations,
  • Compulsory purchase, compensation and claimant work.
  • Regeneration.
  • Energy project development
  • Minerals and waste
  • Business Development.

Main tasks:
  • Develop our existing Wayleave & Easement Advisory Service across the North of England
  • Advising clients in both the delivery of and those affected by energy & utility infrastructure.
  • Contribution to the growth of the business by identifying and developing viable fee earning opportunities including general professional work.
  • Participation in the development and implementation of an effective profit centre business plan developed in-line with the Carter Jonas vision.
  • Comprehensive responsibility for an existing and expanding portfolio of clients, both private and institutional, ensuring the right balance of customer service and profitability.
  • Pro-active participation in the management and development of a strong team.
  • Implementation of policy as required and ensuring legal compliance on all work carried out.
  • Provision of sound financial and client reporting as required from time to time.
  • Working strategically with other departments to exploit new sales opportunities and for consistency and efficiency.
What will it take to be successful?

We are seeking an ambitious and motivated Surveyor with proven experience in a fee earning role who is driven to drive business initiatives forward in a confident and personable manner. The chosen Surveyor will have the ability to build and maintain existing relationships. You will be competent in people management initiatives, numerate with strong written and verbal communication and a specialist working knowledge of relevant legislation. Experience of CPO/DCO and a RICS Registered Valuer would be beneficial but not essential. This is a professional role and would suit an experienced infrastructure surveyor with a background in utilities or commercial asset management ideally with experience in identifying and developing new business opportunities within a diverse and interesting array of assets. The post holder could be based from any of our Northern offices (Leeds, York or Warrington) but would need to be in Leeds 2-3 days per week. Hybrid/Flexible working considered. Hours Full time
