About the Role




As an Associate Tutor in Primary Education you will work with our students, partners and colleagues to deliver high quality Initial Teacher Education programmes across our portfolio. Your main role will be to quality assure the work of school-based mentors within Northern Ireland whilst students are engaged within professional practice. This is largely a remote role with the minimum expectation of one visit to the placement school. Whilst we engage with our partner schools in Northern Ireland throughout the year, the demand for work is often between the months of December to March.


There may also be opportunities for work related to interviewing and support at commercial events such as Open Days.


The role requires flexibility and availability for work to visit school settings during teaching hours.

About You




As an Associate Tutor in Primary Education you will have:

Successful teaching experience in Higher Education or other evidence of the ability to be an effective teacher at this level Relevant subject knowledge as evidenced through qualifications, prior teaching experience or research Developing breadth and depth of subject knowledge and evidence of continuing professional development. Excellent, effective and adaptive teaching skills underpinned by sound pedagogical principles. Ability to work on one's own initiative, to reflect on one's own skills and knowledge, and to seek opportunities to develop. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with colleagues, students and external stakeholders. Proven track record of providing high-quality learning experiences leading to excellent student outcomes.

It is important to note that the successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced Child disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service and that this will form part of the conditions of offer of employment.
